Bíblia Linguagem Atual: A Modern and Understandable Translation of the Bible

Bíblia Linguagem Atual, also known as NTLH, is a Portuguese translation of the Bible in modern and understandable language. The translation adopts a grammatical structure and language closer to that used by simpler people in Brazil. NTLH is aimed at people who have had little or no contact with classical biblical reading due to its simpler and colloquial language. As a result, it has become an evangelization tool because of its clear and easily understandable text, without focusing on the classical language that usually guides these translations. However, the new version does not use slang or regionalisms, which prevented the loss of the biblical style.

The translation principles followed in this revision were the same as those that guided the work of translation into Linguagem de Hoje. João Ferreira de Almeida's translation and other good translations in Portuguese followed the principles of formal equivalence translation. NTLH, on the other hand, was guided by the principles of functional or dynamic equivalence translation.
